Ensuring Stability and Efficiency – EMS Implementation at Samsung's Suwon Data Center

One of BMT EMS’s first large-scale deployments was at the Suwon-based data center jointly used by Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDI, and Cheil Industries. Given the data center’s massive power consumption, BMT’s EMS has been supporting stable and efficient energy management there since 2017. Here’s a closer look at the site.

1. Smart-eye & Panel PC – Protecting the Heart of the Data Center

In 2017, Smart-eye devices and panel PCs were installed on distribution panels throughout the data center. Given the center’s extremely high power consumption, real-time monitoring is essential. These devices continuously measure electricity usage in each zone, with the initial data processed quickly on-site via edge computing through the panel PCs.

2. Control Room Data Transmission – 24/7 Uninterrupted Monitoring

Measured power data is transmitted in real time to the control room server, enabling uninterrupted 24/7 monitoring throughout the year. In a data center environment, even a single power failure can be critical — which is why the stability and reliability of the EMS are essential. Over the years, the system has proven itself through continuous, reliable operation.
